At Pirat Portorož Sailing Club we strive to promote sailing to all who are interested in this wonderful sport. We pay special attention to the proper organisation of sailing courses, with an emphasis on sailing school for children. Our sailing instructors will teach you the basic sailing skills in a fun way.

Everyone can learn to sail, the only condition is that you know how to swim.

1. Beginner 10-days sailing course, for children aged 7 to 13 years

• intended for children without basic sailing knowledge, as well as for those, who want to repeat or renew the course
• group of up to 18 childrens with two instructors
• Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 16:00 hrs
• sailing on Optimist class sailboats (photo gallery - below)

COURSE PRICE

Regular price: EUR 390 per child.
Advance payment (registration and payment until April 26, 2024): EUR 310 per child.
Family discount: EUR 310 per child for the second or third child in the family who attends the sailing school at the same time as the first child.

Course includes:

• lunch
• Lycra long sleeve SPF shirt Gill
• cap with visor Gill
• manual in Slovene language How to start sailing

DAY CARE FOR PRE-COURSE HOURS

• minimum 5 children in day care,
• day care hours: 8:00-10:00,
• day care days: course days only (Mon - Fri),
• price: 65 EUR/child

Life jackets are provided by the club.
In case too few children apply (at least 5 children per course), the course can be postponed or cancelled.

2. Intermediate 7-days course for children aged 8 to 14

• intended for children with basic sailing skills and those who have completed beginner's course
• group of up to 9 children
• Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 16:00 hrs
• sailing on Optimist class boats (photo gallery - below) and RS Feva

Term 6:	26 August 2024 - 1 September 2024        Spots available

Teenagers course for age 12– 18 

Intended for children without basic sailing knowledge or as upgrade of begginers course

• group of up to 9 children
• Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 16:00 hrs
• sailing on RS Feva, Ilca 6,7 or Optimist class boat

COURSE PRICE
Regular price: EUR 210 per child. 

Course includes:

• lunch
• a large towel of Pirat Sailing Club

Life jackets are provided by the club.
In case too few children apply (at least 5 children per course), the course can be postponed or cancelled.

4. Beginner and Intermediate sailing courses for adults (group of 4 participants):

Course participants sail on a small dinghy suitable for your size (Feva, 420 and Ilca) or on a keelboat (Murphy 26).

The 3-day course runs from Friday to Sunday:

• Friday from 17:00 to 19:00
• Saturday from 13:00 to 17:00
• Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00

COURSE PRICE
EUR 285,00 per partecipant.
Club member discount: 30 %

Course includes:

• life jacket rental
• practical gift (Lycra long sleeve SPF shirt Gill and cap with visor Gill)
• manual in Slovene language How to start sailing

JK Pirat reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course due to insufficient number of registered candidates (minimum 3) in a given term.

5. Individual sailing courses for children, youngsters and adults (maximum 2 participants):

• Dates and schedules of courses by appointment with the sailing teacher (via e-mail contact - see below).
• We will run the courses on Optimist, RS Feva, Ilca 4,6,7 or 420 sailboats.

PRICE DOT INDIVIDUAL COURSES:  
EUR 60,00 hour/person
4-hour course (1 day): EUR 210,00/person
8-hour course (2 days): EUR 400,00/person
