Today, June 16, 2023, the world championship in the Optimist class begins with the opening ceremony in Costa Brava, Spain. Slovenian colors will be represented by Butinar Filip Luka, Grbec Val, Sorta Lina, Valjavec Filip and Petaros Kristjan, all from the Pirat Portorož Sailing Club.
"The first sailings of the world championship in the Optimist class begin tomorrow, at which IODA will celebrate 50 years of operation. We completed two training sessions and got to know the new conditions, and then proudly carried the Slovenian flag at the official opening. Our team is young, but brave. Will we do our best," coach Luka Domijan concluded after today's opening day.
