The third day of the Sailing Point Easter Regatta was a masterful display of race management and sailor patience. With nearly 500 boats on the water, the organizers successfully split the fleet into two distinct race areas.
The younger sailors in the Cadet and Rookie fleets, alongside the Zoom8 class, enjoyed a highly productive day in the Portorož Bay. A relatively stable sea breeze of 5–7 knots provided the perfect "tactical playground." Unlike the heavy winds of the opening day, today was about reading the subtle shifts in the breeze. The race committee expertly managed the window, successfully completing three full races for these fleets before the afternoon lull.
Further out at the Punta race course, the Junior fleets faced a more challenging game of "wait and see." As the initial breeze began to fade, the race committee made the proactive decision to move the entire course to find better pressure. Their persistence paid off in the afternoon. While the Silver, Bronze and Emerald groups managed to complete one race, the Gold group battled through two successful races, keeping the overall leaderboard incredibly tight heading into the final day.
Hot Dogs, Rock & Roll, and Lucky Winners
Once the sails were furled and the boats were tucked away, the atmosphere at the club shifted from competitive to celebratory. The evening kicked off with a Hot Dog Party, fueling the hungry sailors after their long hours on the water. The night truly came alive with a live rock concert that had the whole club buzzing. The excitement peaked during the big prize draw, where several lucky participants walked away with fantastic gear and surprises.
